Linda Vining has been making art in a variety of media for nearly thirty years. Now, having added digital/mixed media painting to her studio, Linda continues to blend contemporary spark with the traditional arts. Her warm, lively style and keen dedication to the vitality of "everyday art"; have made her a sought-after presenter on arts topics.
Long noted for her fiber arts designs, custom handspun yarns, and handpainted silk interpretations of Shetland and Hebridean lace styles, her writings on fiber arts have been featured in Spin-Off Magazine (Interweave Press). Linda is a member of Ohio Designer Craftsmen, registered as both a traditional and contemporary Appalachian artist with the Appalachian Arts Project, and has been active for over 15 years through the Ohio Arts Council. Her wide-ranging arts credits also include music performance, lyric-writing, and arrangements of both original and traditional music for voice and instruments.
Linda is an alumna of Wake Forest University, and a 1976 graduate of Brooklyn College where she obtained her fine arts training in classical natural media techniques, print-making, and subtractive sculpture. She received her Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1979, and maintained an active art studio throughout 21 years of law practice. Linda now devotes her workdays entirely to the arts.
