"Capturing Images You Love
With ANY Digital Camera"


The following course is designed to be delivered in PDF format to clients over a 4 week period, one chapter per week. Premium online version will include 4 week membership in an online listserv where students may share experiences and upload images in a moderated, supportive environment. Listserv will include weekly group chats with instructor, and will conclude with an individual 30 min. phone or chat meeting with instructor.

Foreword: contains information on my approach to teaching digital photography

Introduction: information concerning materials you need to take the course, and what you can expect

Chapter 1: "Who Is 'The Photographer'?" establishes teaching focus on learning to see; contains two exercises - one to identify high energy subject matter for the student, and one to compare photography habits with subject matter preference; ends with an assignment intended to begin a habit of high-volume image capture

Chapter 2: "Interviewing Your Camera" contains several exercises for identifying and learning presets, filters, and adjustments on student's camera; presents two types of exercises (subject based, and camera function based) so that student can choose a preferred way to make thorough use of all the cameras capabilities; end with assignment to 'interview' the camera and identify what it can and cannot do

Chapter 3: "Interviewing Your Subject Matter" returns to the photos taken for Chapter 1. This Chapter contains several exercises matching the new batch of photos against the best qualities of previous (old) photos, and identifying new 'best qualities'; closes with an assignment for constructing planned photo session which will incorporate preferred camera functions identified in Chapter 2, and 'best qualities' of preferred subject matter from Chapter 1.

Chapter 4: "Getting Results" contains several 'tip sheets', including low light photography, macro (extreme close-up), general composition and cropping, and pets/children, with exercises to accompany each category; designed to enable student to incorporate previously learned skilled to take a large volume of photos of preferred subject matter, with optimum camera settings, to intentionally capture expressive images.
