The Snowbird Arts NewsFeather: Our First E-Book Is Published! May 19, 2005 |
![]()
Remember: The NewsFEATHER has one aim: to use the gift of art-making to nourish that most fundamental of connections -- the bond between ourselves and the created world. Each issue will contain a mixture of new images from my camera or brush; new developments at the Snowbird Arts studio; quotes, references, links and resources for connecting with the natural riches at our doorsteps, and the inner wealth of our own creative processes. We are oh, so thrilled to tell you what's been happening in the past two weeks. SUBSCRIBE FREE so you can continue to receive The NewsFEATHER.
Yours,
"Kitchen Chickens" Is Published! Our first e-book is born, um, well, hatched! And its cover tops this issue of our NewsFEATHER. Thanks to the review and input of an outstanding bunch of Focus Group members, the final version of our book on Japanese Button Quail is now 34 pages, with more than a dozen illustrations and photos, and a full page of links to internet resources. We delayed the NewsFEATHER by two days, as I attempted to create the e-commerce webpage from which "Kitchen Chickens" could be purchased and downloaded. But after two days of technological head-banging, it was decided that we had at least better send out the NewsFEATHER somewhere close to 'on time'. So, soon the e-commerce page will be ready -- we may even send out an extra bulletin to let you know where to find it! Within a short time, we will also have a full-color hard copy version of "Kitchen Chickens" -- for those who may have a friend or two who are not e-book readers.
Also coming up are photo essays on the circus (yes, the circus!) Just before "Kitchen Chickens" went to press, I was privileged to spend a full day photographing the Royal Hanneford Circus, both backstage and in performance. And the ringmaster was right when he said to me "it just never stops!" LV
From Alysse, in Eugene, Oregon: "I signed up out of curiousity, never having heard of button quail, and could end up a big fan. I did love your book, AND am totally sold on the idea of getting button quail for my family. I raised chicken as a kid, and wish we had room for them now. My kids would LOVE watching the quail and oddly we happen to have just emptied a 30 gallon tank." From Sarah, in Groveland, California: "Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Kitchen Chickens focus group. The information was so thorough and interesting! I am going to be looking into sources for button quail in my area." From Bill, in Ypsilanti, Michigan: "I definitely want the finished book!" I was so tickled to receive these comments, and many more just like them. I hope our preview readers know what a big difference they have made! We love to hear from you, and we read every single email. You can write to us at newsFEATHER@naturefineartandphotography.com Did someone else forward The NewsFEATHER to you?
